We are a bicycle store. We opened Mt. Nittany Wheelworks because we love bikes and have chosen to make them our career. Over thirty years of combined bike shop experience have earned us the right to call ourselves bicycle professionals. Any bike you buy from Wheelworks will have many advantages over a big box bike, regardless of price. Since quality bicycles come in many different sizes and styles, one of us will make sure that the bike you are purchasing will fit you properly and is suited to the type of riding that you wish to do.

All bikes come fully assembled and adjusted by our mechanics. While we are speaking of adjustment, like anything else that is new, a new bike “breaks in”. Your cables will stretch, so your shifting will go out of adjustment. Sometimes the bearings and spokes loosen up. This happens with all new bikes, so for this reason we ask that you bring your new bike back after about twenty hours of riding so that we can re-adjust everything. In addition to this check-up for break-in, we offer a full tune up at no charge within the first year you own the bike to help get you in the habit of periodic bike maintenance. All of this is included with every bike that we sell because when a bike leaves our shop, we don’t want that to be the last time we see it (or you!). Chances are, if we never see it again it is not being ridden. It is very important to us that our customers ride and enjoy the bikes we sell. It is not likely that the person working in the sporting goods aisle at that chain store feels the same.
